WECI Approach

The organization's mandate will be guided by Carbon Trading Regulations 2022 and UNESCO's World Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) program which is closely linked to Millennium Development Goal (MDG) 2 (That focusses on primary education), MDG 7 (concerning environmental sustainability) and MDG 8 (for global development partnership), but relates and clearly contributes to the achievement of each of the other MDGs.

ESD is relevant to all environmental, cultural, economic and socio-political contexts and provides a concrete tool for addressing global sustainable challenges through education, taking into account ecosystems challenges and nature.

WECI emphasizes the teaching of the holistic nature of the environment through interdisciplinary and problem-solving approaches. This has to start as early in education as possible.

Our Approach

  • Considering the Constituion of the United Republic of Tanzania (U:R:T:) which recognizes equality for all

  • WECI is eager to fully involve women in regular programs that doesn't require extra strength; our new program will deliberatlely involve women at all stages of the project cycle.

  • To increase primary and secondary schools', students' knowledge and appreciation of wildlife and general environmental conservation efforts in their areas.

  • The UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC 1989) with principles of non-discrimination, survival and development, best interest of the child, and participations

  • Principles and guiding statements that are stipulated in the National policy on disability 2004, Convention on the Rights of the Child1989.
